STEVE WARD
Steven Ward was born and raised in Monroe County, where he grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Monroe High School and then went to Hiwassee College. He graduated with Honors from the University of Tennessee in 1985 with a degree in Political Science. He graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Law in 1988. After graduation, he worked in private practice in Jefferson County and Knoxville with an
emphasis on criminal law and family law.
In 1992, he returned to Monroe County, where he worked as an Assistant District Attorney from 1992 to 1997, working closely with law enforcement in multiple counties. He has been in private practice in Madisonville since 1997, in a general practice including criminal law, family law, and adoption law, representing clients all over East Tennessee. He and his wife, Katherine, enjoy horseback riding, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren, as well as maintaining relationships that resulted from over 20 years of Steven and Katherine being therapeutic foster parents.
BRANDI STALLANS
Brandi Stallans grew up in Greenback but settled in Monroe County 25 years ago. After raising her children and working in the administrative field. She decided to return to school and pursue a degree in the legal field. In 2021 she began attending Cleveland State Community College and in 2022 graduated with her associate’s degree and Paralegal Certification. She is currently enrolled at Liberty University working towards a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies.
She came to work for Steven Ward as an intern to complete hours needed for class credit while enrolled at Cleveland State. She transitioned from intern to full-time paralegal without missing a beat. In her free time, Brandi loves traveling and live music. Her favorite thing is spending time with her children and grandchildren.
